How do I send the exam to DRC Testing? When a student schedules their exam with us, you will automatically be sent a request for the exam with instructions.  Log in to and complete the exam instructions. At this time you may email the exam as an attachment to You may also have the exam delivered to YONG 853.

Why did my student sign up for that time? Students schedule their exams online; however, they should be taking the exam when the class is taking the exam. If the student has signed up for a different time to take the exam, that situation should have been previously discussed with the instructor. Please contact your student to discuss any issues.

Why does DRC Testing need to know certain information about the exam? The DRC asks questions about the exam so we know what to provide the student with as well as what to NOT allow the student to have during the exam. Your answers help us to properly administer the exam and protect its integrity.

What information do I need to give DRC Testing to proctor the exam? The DRC needs to know when the class is taking the exam, how long the class has to complete the exam, and what materials are allowed during the exam (e.g., notes, books, calculators), as well as what materials we need to provide (such as scantron).

How and when do I get the exam back once the student has taken the exam at DRC Testing? When the exam is completed, DRC Testing will deliver the exam as you specified online in the exam instructions. If you selected an electronic copy, DRC Testing delivers those files via Filelocker

Do I need an Accommodation Letter from the student? Yes. The student must provide the instructor with their Accommodation Letter; otherwise, the instructor does not have to allow the student to take the exam in DRC Testing. The Accommodation Letter should be provided to the instructor well in advance to make arrangements of the accommodations.

What happens if DRC Testing detects misconduct during an exam? The exam will be taken away immediately and packaged, the instructor will be contacted, and a description of the incident will be written up by the employee who caught the student. Then it is up to the instructor to determine how to proceed.

Why does the student need to take the exam at DRC Testing? Students take their exams in DRC Testing if the instructor is unable to provide accommodations for the student on their own. DRC Testing is able to provide students with accommodations that the DRC has determined they qualify for (such as a distraction-reduced environment, a scribe, assistive technology and extended time to complete the exam).

What can I do to provide the accommodations on my own? It depends on the student’s accommodations. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the DRC (765.494.1247). We will be more than happy to help.

Does DRC Testing share my exams and contact information? No. DRC Testing holds exam security as a high priority.  Exams are secured until the student takes the exam.  Email attachments are deleted in an appropriate manner.  If a student does not show up for the exam the exam is shredded within a month, therefore, if a student wants to make up an exam, we may not have a copy and may need you to send the exam again. If you provide us with a cell phone number to contact you, we will not share your cell number.  We will dial the phone then pass it to the student to talk to you if they have questions.

What happens to the completed exams once you have sent them to me via Filelocker? If an instructor has requested an electronic copy of the exam, DRC Testing will utilize Purdue’s approved file transfer program, Filelocker, to transmit the file.
