The National Defense Industrial Association drives strategic dialogue in national security by identifying key issues and leveraging the knowledge and experience of its military, government, industry, and academic members to address them. Purdue's membership in NDIA brought the inaugural, classified NDIA Hypersonics Capabilities Conference to Purdue's campus in 2019. |
 |
Purdue holds a seat at the advisory board through i-GSDI on NDIA's Greater Indiana Chapter. NDIA Indiana is committed to encouraging and facilitating information between industry and government with particular focus on national security and defense preparedness in Indiana. |
 |
i-GSDI, Purdue Policy Research Institute, and the College of Liberal Arts are co-members in the STRATCOM Academic Alliance, an academic community of interest focused on research and analysis of deterrence, assurance, and associated strategic level national security themes in a rapidly changing, multi-domain global threat environment. |
Purdue OTA Consortium Memberships through i-GSDI
What is an Other Transaction Authority (OTA)
Other Transactions are legally binding contracts that are generally exempt from federal procurement laws and regulations such as the Competition in Contracting Act and the Federal Acquisition Regulation. An OT can allow for much greater speed, flexibility, and accessibility in performing research and prototyping activities. It can also be used to design and implement innovative business models within the government that would otherwise not be feasible.
What is an Other Transaction Authority Consortium?
The OT Consortium model provides tremendous flexibility, speed, and access to the broadest possible pool of prospective vendors, including small business and academia research, prototype and contract follow on.
