Purdue University

Overview

The Center for the Environment supports several areas of interdisciplinary research that reflect research strengths of Purdue.  These include four signature research areas in Biodiversity, Building Sustainable Communities, Chemical Exposures and Water Challenges.  Nascent areas of research for the Center are represented by research clusters in circular economies, cyber-animal systems and remote sensing for the environment.  The Center also supports signature projects including the Center for Global Soundscapes and the Nexus Arequipa Institute.  In 2020, we also launched two center-level initiatives in Environmental Justice and the New Carbon Economy.  Information on all of these research and programmatic areas is available by clicking any of the above links or exploring the menu on the left side of this page.
