Building on the success of the China-US Joint Research Center for Ecosystem and Environmental Change (JRCEEC), this EcoPartnership is a collaboration among Purdue University’s Global Sustainability Initiative (contact: Timothy Filley), the University of Tennessee’s (UT) Institute for a Secure and Sustainable Environment (contact: Joe Zhuang), the University of Tennessee-Oak Ridge National Laboratory’s (UT-ORNL) Joint Institute for Biological Sciences (JIBS, contact: Gary Sayler) of the US and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) including the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR, contact: Yu Guirui), the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES, contact: Ouyang Zhiyun), and the Institute of Applied Ecology (IAE, contact: Han Xingguo). Tim Filley of Purdue University is the US Team Leader. Yu Guirui of the IGSNRR is the Chinese Team Leader. To ensure broader impact we will expand our collaborative network during the course of the EcoPartnership. This collaboration comes under the EcoPartnerships Framework as described in the Memorandum of Understanding between the US Department of State (DoS) and the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the People’s Republic of China signed on May 25, 2010.
