Viktoria Krasnyanskaya received her B.S. in Biology from Krasnodar State University in 1987, and M.S. in Molecular Biology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2001, where she studied the expression of Phenylalanine Ammonia-Lyase and Cynnamyl Alcohol Dehydrogenase genes in Astragalus sinicus hairy roots. She assisted in setting up a new laboratory and initiating the research on functional characterization of genes involved in biosynthesis of mycotoxin in Aspergillus nidulans mutants in Mycotoxicology and Fungal Research Laboratory at Southern University of Illinois in Carbondale. She was involved in setting up a new Plant Biochemical and Molecular Genetics laboratory at Purdue University in West Lafayette. In 2006 she started working as a Molecular Biology Technician at Genomics Core Facility at Purdue University. The Genomics Core Facility moved to the Bindley Bioscience Center in 2020. Viktoria continues to provide customers with sample quality control, using Qubit 4 Fluorometer and Agilent Bioanalyzer 2100, purification and quantification of the samples using AMPure and QPCR; preparation of DNA libraries using Illumina protocols, setting up Illumina MiSeq runs to obtain sequencing data.
