Kristina Grayson received a MS in Immunology and Microbiology from Wake Forest University School of Medicine where she learned and studied flow cytometry. Her master’s training included tissue processing from an influenza Streptococcus pneumonia co-infection mouse model and analyzing lung, spleen, and lymph node tissues on a BD Canto II flow cytometer. She also studied activation of human peripheral blood mononuclear cells in vitro and analyzed the cell populations with flow cytometry. She joined the Purdue Animal Disease Diagnostic lab in 2016 where she learned asceptic subculture and passage of mammalian cell lines and various diagnostic tests. In June 2018, she joined the Purdue Cytometry and Cell Separation facility, where she works with Dr. Jill Hutchcroft and helps students and staff learn how to use the BD Fortessa SORP flow cytometer and runs the BD FACS Aria high-speed cell sorter.
