Classroom Resources for All Grade Levels

USDA Hungry Pests – Curricula with numerous lessons and resources—for both the classroom and the outdoors—that engage students in the process of discovery.  These materials are designed to make youth aware of invasive species and the damage they cause. Covers grades K-12.

USDA Soil Education – Soil facts, resources, and lesson plans. Covers grades K-12.

 Classroom Resources for Elementary Classrooms (K-5) 

Dig IN!– Explore a world of possibilities in the garden and on your plate using ten inquiry-based lessons that engage 5th and 6th graders in growing, harvesting, tasting, and learning about fruits and vegetables. Schools participating in the National School Lunch Program or other Child Nutrition program may request a free print copy of the curriculum. Covers grades 5 and 6.

The Great Garden Detective Adventure  An 11-lesson, standards-based gardening nutrition curriculum involving a series of investigations and fun experiences connecting the school garden to the classroom, school cafeteria, and home. Covers grades 3 and 4.

UGA Extension School Garden Curriculum and Resources Comprehensive garden curriculum resource with lessons in Earth Science, Life Science, Physical Science, English & Language Arts, Math, and Social Studies. All lessons are broken down by grade level.  Covers grades K-8.

Edible Schoolyard Lessons and activities in the kitchen and garden classrooms bring academic subjects to life and cultivate an appetite for fresh, healthy food, as well as the confidence to prepare it at home. Covers grades 6-8.
