John L. Hawley, National Farm to School Network Indiana Supporting Partner
John is the Agriculture and Natural Resource Educator for Purdue Extension – Dearborn County. He currently serves Indiana as a Supporting Partner to the National Farm to School Network and Farm to School specialist representing Purdue Extension. In these roles, John focuses on educational programming, such as the Great Lakes Apple Crunch and Ag Days. He also provides technical assistance and other resources to Farm to School programs locally and statewide.
Crystal Van Pelt
Crystal is the Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Community Development Educator in Steuben County, Indiana. She has been working on Farm to School projects and programs since 2014, including school gardening lessons and activities, a school food procurement field day, and Food Day celebrations.
Anthony Van Gorp
Anthony is the Urban Agriculture Educator assigned to Gary Indiana on a SARE Grant. The primary duties are to Support the development of an urban agriculture certificate program adapted for the Gary community, tool sharing program, internship program with trained mentors, Create a peer-to-peer network of urban farmers, ND Initiate a fresh produce marketing program with local stakeholders .
Hans is an educator in Posey County. He’s not working Farm to School but likes to incorporate JMG curriculum into other programming.
Karen is the Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator for Purdue Extension – Tippecanoe County. Karen received her B.S. in Horticultural Production and Marketing and M.S. in Weed Science at Purdue University. With a passion for helping others grow, Karen is active in statewide extension programming for small farms, beginning farmers, Master Gardeners, community gardens, and home horticulture.
Krista is the Agriculture and Natural Resources and Community Development Educator in Cass County. Krista takes an active role in statewide extension efforts through her programming in succession planning, farm to school, Junior Master Gardeners, home horticulture, and crop and livestock production.
Alex is an Urban Agriculture Educator in Marion County, where she focuses on urban livestock such as chickens and goats. She is excited to share Farm to School and Jr. Master Gardener with youth in the Indianapolis area.
Dana is the Agriculture and Natural Educator in Vigo County. Dana takes an active role in statewide extension efforts through her programming in home horticulture, small farm, farm to school, Junior Master Gardeners, crop and livestock production
