Even if you think you may not receive need-based financial funding, it doesn\u2019t hurt to submit a FAFSA. Purdue\u2019s Federal School Code is&nbsp;<strong>001825.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students who submit a FAFSA prior to&nbsp;<strong>Purdue\u2019s April 15 priority filing date<\/strong>&nbsp;(this is a hard deadline for Indiana residents to be considered for state-based aid) will receive the maximum amount of consideration for financial aid. You may submit a FAFSA after April 15, but some types of aid may no longer be available.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before completing your FAFSA, you\u2019ll need to create a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out#creating-an-account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StudentAid.gov Account<\/a>&nbsp;(Username\/Password FSA-ID). If parents are helping in the aid process, make sure one of them registers for a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out#creating-an-account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StudentAid.gov Account<\/a>&nbsp;(Username\/Password) also. Students may find helpful informational booklets, brochures, videos and other&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">resources<\/a>&nbsp;on the Federal Student Aid website.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column column is-one-quarter-desktop is-full-tablet is-full-mobile page-layout-sidebar is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"section has-padding-bottom-none  page-layout-wide page-layout-two-column\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n                \n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When You\u2019ll Hear Back<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><strong>Newly Admitted Students&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In March, our office anticipates to begin releasing 2026-27 financial aid notifications to first-year students (via their&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/mypurdue.purdue.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>myPurdue<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;portal) who have filed a FAFSA, created their career account and submitted all requested documentation. Students will be notified via their Purdue.edu email account when financial aid notifications are available.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>Returning Students<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Expect to receive your financial aid notifications in mid-June.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"section has-padding-top-none  page-layout-wide\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n                \n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns page-layout-columns columns is-multiline is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column column is-full-tablet page-layout-main is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You\u2019ll Need<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out#gathering-the-documents-needed-to-apply\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FAFSA website<\/a>&nbsp;for a full list of information you\u2019ll want to gather before you begin.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View helpful tips from the\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/resources\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Student Aid\u202fresources<\/a>\u202fto help prepare your answers before entering them online.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Guidance for Families with Different Citizenship\/Immigration Statuses<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students should monitor the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Student Aid<\/a>&nbsp;website for updated information on reporting&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out\/parent-info\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">parent information<\/a>, including reporting information about non-citizen parents, on the FAFSA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What You\u2019ll Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be sure to enter\u202f<strong>Federal School Code 001825<\/strong>\u202fto allow your information to be sent to Purdue University West Lafayette (<strong>students in Indianapolis should also use code 001825<\/strong>).&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Federal Student Aid<\/a>, select&nbsp;<em>Complete the FAFSA Form<\/em>, and click&nbsp;<em>Start Here<\/em>, then log in using your StudentAid.gov username and password.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Input the requested information.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column column is-one-quarter-desktop is-full-tablet is-full-mobile page-layout-sidebar is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"section has-gray-background  page-layout-wide\">\n    <div class=\"container\">\n                \n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns page-layout-columns columns is-multiline is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column column is-full-tablet page-layout-main is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips:&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have any FAFSA filing questions, you can contact FAFSA customer service agents at 800-433-3243.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/help-center\/contact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Live chat and email options<\/a>&nbsp;are also available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Submitting your FAFSA on time ensures that you are considered for all available aid that applies to you. Submitting it late may result in less aid being available to you.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you start attending school in the spring, you should complete the FAFSA for the current year.\u202fIf you start in the summer, you should complete the FAFSA for the upcoming year.\u202f&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can apply for financial aid prior to applying for admission to Purdue. However, you must be admitted to a degree-seeking program (or a teacher\u2019s certification program) before eligibility is calculated to receive financial aid.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students must invite any contributors needed to complete their portion of the FAFSA. A contributor could be the student, the student\u2019s spouse (if applicable), a biological or adoptive parent or the spouse of the remarried parent who is on the FAFSA \u2014 the stepparent. All contributors are required to have a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\/filling-out#creating-an-account\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StudentAid.gov Account<\/a>&nbsp;(Username\/Password) and must give consent to have their federal tax information from the IRS, or the student will not be eligible for federal types of aid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>We recommend printing the \u201cFAFSA on the Web\u201d submission confirmation page as proof of completion.
