Contact DFA

See below for more detailed information on contacting the Division of Financial Aid.

Client Identification Policy

The Division of Financial Aid (DFA) has a responsibility to safeguard information provided to us by students and parents according to Federal law. Toward that effort, we have recently strengthened our Client Identification Policy. Parents of dependent students seeking information about their student’s account will need to provide the student’s Purdue University ID number. Additionally, parents will need to use the email account that they provided on their student’s FAFSA application and include the student’s name and Purdue ID number when requesting an email reply. Read our complete privacy policy at https://www.purdue.edu/dfa/policies/privacy.php.

An email inquiry service is available for your convenience. Most financial aid questions submitted via email are answered within 24-48 hours (between 8 am – 5 pm EST, excluding weekends and holidays). Our email address is facontact@purdue.edu if you prefer to send a direct email instead of utilizing our online service. We recommend that you phone or visit if your question is urgent.

Call Center and Fax

Specific and personal questions can be answered by our highly trained financial aid counselors by calling (765) 494-5050. Due to the significant volume of calls we receive, an automated attendant answers calls at this number and distributes them to the first available counselor from 8 am to 5 pm EST, Monday through Friday. During some months of the year (April, July, and August) our call volume is very high, and you may find that our phone lines are frequently busy. During this period you may find it more convenient to utilize our Email Inquiry Service.

Documents can be submitted via fax at (765) 494-6707. Please include the student's full name and PUID on every page submitted to our office.
