year, the inaugural edition of the Purdue Data Digest was
very enthusiastically received and highlighted the needs of
the University community for detailed information about Purdue.
This second edition builds on last years Digest and
contains updated as well as new information.
have been several additions to this years Digest, including
information on the Universitys Strategic Plan. With
the approval of the Strategic Plan by the Board of Trustees
this past November, the University has now begun its implementation.
In the future, the Digest will contain updates on our progress
to meet the three goals relating to discovery, learning, and
engagement. This years Digest includes a brief summary
of the mission, vision, and goals of the Strategic Plan along
with the list of new peer institutions and benchmarks that
will be used to measure our progress. The section on university
peers has also been modified to contain comparative data on
our new peers.
We hope that you will continue to find value
in the information contained in the Data Digest and find it
a useful reference in your planning and decision-making activities.
