Christian Church Architecture in China

Dr. He Qi presented a description in history of Chinese church architecture from Nestorian Buddhist style to Jesuits Baroque style, from “New Gothic” to contemporary church architecture until the cross removals and church destruction in Zhejiang today.

 

Currently an artist-in-residence at Claremont School of Theology, California, Dr. He studied at Nanjing Normal University, Nanjing Art Institute and Hamburg Art Institute in Germany. His art works have been exhibited in museums, galleries, universities, and churches around the world. He has taught at Nanjing Union Theological Seminary and Nanjing University.
