Welcome to Friends Friday! While we are all trying to “flatten the curve” we wanted to highlight different Friends of Convos. In case you’re not aware, Friends of Convos is an influential group of arts supporters who bring world-class performances to our community! Each year, they help bring performances to our community and subsidize tickets for seniors, Purdue students, and P-12 students.

This week we’re highlighting Friend Julian Holloway!
Hi, my name is Julian Holloway and I am a data analyst at Purdue Research Foundation. I have been with Purdue for five years and previously worked as an IT developer for Hewlett Packard for seven years. I am a huge fan of Philadelphia professional sports (Go Birds!) as I was born and raised there. My wife Andrea and I are both Purdue graduates, majoring in Accounting and CIT (Computer & Information technology) respectively.
How did you become a Friend?
One of my colleagues had been a member for a long time and explained all of the great benefits of the membership. It was a no-brainer after thinking about it as my wife and I love going on dates.
What was your favorite show this season (or past) and why?
Harlem 100 at Loeb Playhouse. I have an old soul and love music so this was right in my wheelhouse. I was also tremendously excited to see A Bronx Tale before the COVID-19 cancellation. I am hoping the play will come back as I will be first in line.
Who would you love to see Convos bring to campus?
I would love to see a show related to any of the popular Mo-Town artists or groups. I have also always loved watching the magician David Blaine. I think it would be amazing if there were a traveling Def-Poetry group (Google/YouTube HBO Def Poetry Jam) that came to Purdue.
