Emmet Cohen Trio

and the Live from Emmet’s Place All-Stars

Live streamed to audiences in 2021, Live from Emmet’s Place provided front row seats in jazz pianist Emmet Cohen’s apartment. Now, Purdue welcomes Cohen’s Trio, along with the Live From Emmet’s Place All-Stars, for a real time, in-person performance.

Harkening back to Harlem rent parties of yesteryear, Live from Emmet’s Place invited online audiences inside the apartment of jazz pianist Emmet Cohen as one of the most welcome of COVID-era pivots. Convos supported these instant-favorite Monday-night livestreams in early 2021, which grafted Cohen’s fluid grasp of the jazz canon with a deeply grooving rhythm section—featuring bassist Russell Hall and drummer Kyle Poole, along with a remarkable cast of superlative “houseguests” to create one of the most successful-yet-intimate jazz experiences on the internet. Now, Convos is thrilled to welcome Cohen’s trio along with some of your favorite Live From Emmet’s Place All-Stars for a real-time, in-person performance. In 2019, Cohen’s trio previously backed jazz vocalist Veronica Swift’s Purdue engagement during the same week in which Cohen was named the American Pianists Association’s Cole Porter Fellow in Jazz. Having since lit up legendary nightclubs and jazz festivals worldwide with his inimitable charm, Cohen will now turn Loeb Playhouse into a Live from Emmet’s Place at Purdue.
