If you thought making your remainder disappear when doing long division was magic, factor in a fun time for you and the family when math magician Danny Carmo (played by Caolan McBride) returns to Purdue with his Mathematical Mysteries. The Irish entertainer with a passion for promoting mathematics to young and old sold out his 2018 Purdue show and thrilled Greater Lafayette schools with four shows during his stay.
Carmo’s act features traditional, show-stopping magic — plenty of small boxes to be stabbed and sawed with assistant Nicola McBride inside — along with multimedia trickery. The audience has to help Carmo with some of his problems, but they’re nothing a math-impassioned Boilermaker crowd can’t handle.
