“Gaulin is…a force of nature in Austin theatre.”
– Central Texas Live Theatre
Jack London’s thrilling tale of courage and survival becomes a multimedia adventure of performance, storytelling, and projected images. Buck—the offspring of a St. Bernard and Scottish Collie—is kidnapped and put to work as a sled dog in Canada’s Klondike Gold Rush of the 1800s. As the call of his wild ancestors courses through his blood, Buck discovers his own endurance and strength to become the most famous dog in the northland’s history. Using 180° projection for scenic, artistic, and historical context, Call of the Wild is a solo tour de force from Noel Gaulin—showcasing Philip R. Goodwin’s classic first-edition-book illustrations, period photographs, and original drawings and animations from artist Michael Rae.
