Blending the classical with the contemporary, the award winning Argus Quartet’s diverse, innovative repertoire speaks to a sonic wanderlust … and a journey worth taking.
…finding fresh, thrillingly expressive possibilities and adding bold new colors to a canvas that has their clear signature on it.”
– David Harrington, Kronos Quartet
The legendary Argo and its crew sailed in pursuit of the Golden Fleece, according to Greek mythology. Athena planned the ship’s construction. Hera protected its sailors. But it was built under the steady hand and sturdy vision of Argus—in whose name and exploratory spirit the Argus Quartet has become one of today’s most dynamic, versatile young chamber ensembles. Praised for their “supreme melodic control and total authority” (Calgary Herald), the quartet recently won top prizes at 2017’s Victor Elmaleh Concert Artists Guild and M-Prize Chamber Arts competitions. Blending canonical staples with contemporary trailblazers, the Argus Quartet’s diverse, innovative repertoire speaks to a sonic wanderlust…and a journey worth taking.
