Purdue Convocations is a multi-disciplinary performing arts presenting organization based at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. For more than a century, Convocations has served the region as a presenter of world-class, national and international artists across the performing arts and entertainment spectrum, with over 30 productions each academic year in multiple campus and community venues ranging from 140-6,000 seats. As a presenter at an institution of higher education, Convocations has a strong tradition of curricular engagement as it connects visiting artists with classroom discourse in both the pre-school to grade 12 and collegiate communities. Widely recognized for its diverse programmatic vision, Convocations explores classic and contemporary aesthetics, presents established as well as emerging artists, participates in the creation of new work, and benefits from the presence of an internationalized, educated audience. Internships provide experience to students who have an interest in the related fields of arts administration. All interns, whether paid or part of the Federal Work Study program, make a commitment to work an average of ten hours per week. Interns will receive valuable experience and contacts in many fields of the performing arts, and tickets to most Purdue Convocations performances.
