Application and Submission Process
Applicants must submit an application by April 5, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. ET. Proposals should be submitted as a single PDF file attachment named IPAIPostdoc032024.pdf followed by the applicant(s) last name(s) (e.g. IPAIPostdoc032024Smith) to an email message addressed to purdueresearch@purdue.edu. IPAI anticipates awarding up to five postdocs in 2024.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee and applicants will be notified of a decision by April 29, 2024. The project must start between May 1 and December 31, 2024.
Applications should include the following information:
- Page 1: Cover Page – PDF templates available to download: Graduate Student or Faculty member.
- Pages 2-4: Research plan, limited to 3 pages, single-spaced, 1-inch margins, and no smaller than 12-point font.
- Proposals must include the following labeled sections:
- Problem Statement
- Objectives and Rationale
- Approach/Materials and Methods
- Summary and Conclusion (indicating how the project aligns with the IPAI mission and indicating prospective sponsors for future funding and potential publication venues)
- Metrics (that will be used to evaluate success/impact)
- Anticipated Products/Outcomes (including plans to leverage this funding for external grants)
- Page 5: Budget for research support ($50,000): provide a description for how you intend to use funds for research support. Please note: The funds can be used for equipment, supplies, hiring undergraduates, etc. They cannot be used to supplement the salary of the postdoc or any faculty.
- Attachments:
- Two-page (max) CV for applicant and each co-advisor
- Co-advisors’ mentoring plan(s) for postdoc
