Exemplary Community Partner Award

The annual Exemplary Community Partner Award — accompanied by a $1,000 cash prize — was created in 2012 to show the University's appreciation of local agencies that contribute to the growth of students by providing volunteer and educational opportunities.

Purdue faculty, students and staff are asked to nominate not-for-profit agencies, schools or governmental units that have demonstrated excellence in creating and sustaining opportunities for engaging Purdue students in volunteerism or service-learning.

A nomination letter, not to exceed two pages, should include:

*A description of benefits to the organization and the people it serves that are derived from engaging Purdue students in the organization's work.

*The types of activities in which students engage and a description of how that engagement benefits the students' education.

The nomination must include a written statement from a Purdue student explaining the impact that involvement with the agency has had on the student's life and education.

Nominations should be forwarded to Mike Piggott, community relations director, at mpiggott@purdue.edu.
