Course Evaluation - Faculty

Submmission Process

During weeks 0, 2, and 4 your department will receive a template from IDP which includes all courses as they are set up in Banner. From this template, the department/program head or the department evaluation coordinator will create a request form that will include all courses to be evaluated. All requests for evaluation must be submitted to IDP by the coordinator. If your course was not evaluated, it is possible that an evaluation was not requested by your department. All course evaluations include eight standard questions, the two University “Core”’ items, four demographic questions used for research purposes and two written prompts for student feedback. Some departments may have standard evaluation questions for some or all instructors.

Faculty Responses

You may access online evaluation results by clicking the "Logon" button to the left and logging in with your career account and password. Previous semesters may be viewed by setting the "Year" and "Survey Period" to a particular semester.

Campus policy prohibits anyone from seeing evaluation results until grades have been submitted and finalized through Banner. Evaluation results will be available at 8:00AM on the day after all grades are due for the semester and you will receive an automated email with a link to the evaluation site. Summer session evaluation results are available after the third module, when all grades are due.

Each instructor who was evaluated has access to responses for their course. Department/program heads also have access to results per the request form as submitted to IDP. Anyone wishing to view the evaluation results from GTAs or other instructors should contact your department coordinator early in the semester.

Schedule and Responses

There are three standard evaluation periods, during weeks 5 & 6, weeks 8 to 10 (may very), and weeks15 & 16 in the academic calendar. They begin at 1:00AM on Monday of the first week and end 14 days later, Sunday at 11:00 PM. Some professional schools have different evaluation periods to accommodate irregular course scheduling. Contact your department evaluation coordinator for details. Instructors receive automated emails notifying them of the response rate for their courses. Real-time response rate updates are also available at the course evaluation website. It includes the number of students who have submitted responses out of the expected total of students enrolled. Names of students who have completed evaluations are not released to instructors.

The typed comments section is not required for students who complete an evaluation. It is possible no students provided typed feedback.  If no students left comments, the typed comments section will not be listed on the evaluation report.

Instructors may request an Excel output for an individual course where written comments are linked to quantitative responses by emailing the course and section number, instructor name, and semester to
