PICR Outstanding Service and Engagement Award

Purpose:

The Outstanding Service & Engagement Award is to recognize and celebrate individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment and active participation within the institute. This award aims to honor members, PICR staff, PICR trainees or volunteers who have not only contributed significantly to the goals and mission of the institute but have also actively engaged in its various activities, fostering a collaborative and impactful environment.

Criteria:

Nominees must not have received this award within the past five years to be eligible. The nominee must meet the following eligibility criteria to be considered for the Outstanding Service & Engagement Award:

  1. Demonstrated Engagement: The nominee must have actively engaged in PICR activities, such as committee involvement, event participation, or collaborative initiatives.
  2. Service to the Institute: The nominee should have a proven record of service contributions that have positively impacted the goals and objectives of the Purdue Institute of Cancer Research.

Nomination Procedure:

  1. Nominations should be submitted as a single PDF file here by March 3, 2025.
  2. The PICR Executive Committee will serve as the selection committee.
  3. Nominations will include in the following order:
    1. A cover sheet (template below)
    2. Include two letters of support from colleagues, PICR members, or staff who can speak to the nominee's contributions to the PICR. Letters should provide a written justification for the nomination, addressing the nominee's outstanding service and engagement to the Purdue Institute of Cancer Research. Include specific examples, projects, or initiatives that highlight the nominee's contributions.

Recognition:

The awardee will be announced at the Spring Awards Ceremony and will receive a monetary award of $1,000 and a plaque.
