PICR Mid-Career Research Achievement Award

Purpose:

The Purdue Institute of Cancer Research (PICR) seeks to recognize strong scientific/scholarly contributions as a result of work completed in their role as a PICR member. For this award, the PICR seeks candidates who have demonstrated a sustained and significant impact on their field and national or international recognition for their work.

Criteria:

Tenure-track, associate professors who have been on faculty at Purdue for at least two years prior to nomination. A faculty member can only be recognized for this award once. Any PICR member can submit a nomination for this award.

Nomination Procedure:

  1. Nominations should be submitted as a single PDF file here by March 3, 2025.
  2. The PICR Executive Committee will serve as the selection committees.
  3. The nomination must include in the following order:
    1. Cover page (template below)
    2. Letter of nomination
    3. Nominees CV
    4. A second letter of support from either another PICR member or one external cancer researcher.
    5. If an external letter of support, a one-paragraph description or a website link with the credentials of the external reviewer

Deadline: The nomination packet can be submitted here as a single PDF file by March 3, 2025.

Recognition: The awardee will be announced at the Spring Awards Ceremony and will receive a monetary award of $1,000 and a plaque.
