Did You Know Series

The Butler Center is unveiling a new series entitled ‘Did you know? Information about Resources on Campus’. This is a result of comments at the well-attended and informative sessions we had in 2017-18. Purdue provides a wide variety of resources to faculty to ensure they succeed in doing research, teaching, and engaging with the community. The goal of this series is to share information about campus resources and address inclusivity in ways that can facilitate success of faculty, staff, and students which in turn can contribute to the leadership pipeline.

For the past two decades Purdue has offered Learning Community options for new students to engage with an academic topic as a cohort inside and outside of the classroom. Two years ago Residential Academic Initiatives was formed to add to the Learning Community program and support faculty in their efforts to pair a co-curricular experience with academic engagement. The Learning Community program is now only one of the programs supported within Residential Academic Initiatives. This panel will discuss two new initiatives, the Amelia Earhart Faculty-in-Residence program and the Data Mine community, as well as highlight other ways faculty mentorship and co-curricular programs can be supported by Residential Academic Initiatives.
