Offered each year in the fall, the Conference for Pre-Tenure Women brings pre-tenure women – and men – faculty from across the country together on Purdue’s campus to discuss, share information, learn strategies, and meet with others in an effort to especially raise women’s success in earning tenure. The conference can be useful for assistant professors from all types of institutions: liberal arts colleges, teaching institutions, and research I institutions.

Topics of discussion include promotion and tenure policy and procedures, navigating bias and difference, building effective relationships with faculty colleagues, and addressing teaching challenges.  National speakers and local experts provide keynotes and facilitated sessions. The conference also offers participants significant networking opportunities with peers and leaders in academic administration.
