The Conference for Pre-Tenure Women is the keystone event of the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence. Offered each year in the fall, this conference brings pre-tenure women – and men – faculty from across the country together on Purdue’s campus to gather information, learn strategies and meet with others in an effort to increase tenure success.

Topics of discussion include promotion and tenure policy and procedures, the representation of one’s work, mentors, alliance building, and working with students. National speakers and local experts provide keynotes and facilitated sessions, including one-on-one and peer review of curriculum vitae and tenure documents. The conference also offers participants a variety of significant networking opportunities with peers and leaders in academic administration.

The conference has drawn nearly 400 participants from some 40 different institutions representing major disciplines and most professional schools and colleges.
