Announcements and Press Releases

Welcome to the website of the Susan Bulkeley Butler Center!

The Butler Center has an exciting set of events this fall (2017). The semester began with the extremely well-attended Conference for Pre-tenure Women in the first week of September. Supplementing the two keynote addresses by Jessica Bennett and Beronda Montgomery, several tenured faculty members from Purdue participated in one of the fourteen panels. An overview of this year’s conference can be reached from the following document (PDF, page 21).

The new series, Conversations about Inclusion, has been received well on campus. The first two panel sessions saw very high levels of attendance and engagement. Three more panels are coming up this semester. Please see the schedule.

As in past years, Susan Bulkeley Butler has graciously agreed to hold two leadership coaching sessions this fall. The first one is for staff and the second one will focus on faculty.

Please continue to join us for the WEN-U breakfast meetings. See our fall program for the dates. Two awards of the Center – Violet Haas award and Leadership in Action award – have been announced and will be decided this semester.

We will be continuing the Conversations about Inclusion series, WEN-U, and the Coaching sessions in spring 2018. Our spring program will be available late in November. In addition, we will have some new initiatives. Look out for the details of the new initiatives in November.

We look forward to seeing many of you at our events!

Sincerely,

Mangala Subramaniam

Professor, Sociology &
Director, Susan Bulkeley Butler Center for Leadership Excellence
