Error Messages

Binding Error

The following “Binding” error can occur under two different circumstances:

  1. There is no data available for the parameters included in the variable screen.
  2. The query supporting the BEx Report has changed out from under it.

Binding Error

DP_Documents:  Unable to load InfoProvider

At times users may experience an error message of “DP_DOCUMENTS:  Unable to load InfoProvider” when executing a Business Warehouse report with a custom template, such as those created for AIMS.  This error may not appear on all Business Warehouse reports.

This error message does not impact the data in the report.  The report executes correctly.

DP_Documents was included in the custom templates in anticipation of SAP Documents functionality being available by go-live.  SAP Documents functionality allows report developers to attach word documents to a report or InfoProvider to communicate information such as metadata, instructions on how to run a report, etc. to an end user.  The SAP Document functionality is currently not working but it is planned as a future enhancement.

Information Broadcasting Errors

Clicking on the Email Message Link:  The following error results if the person just clicks on the link from the Broadcast email message and does copy and paste the full URL into a new browser.  This is just one possible error.  Depending on where the hyperlink actually ends, a variety of error messages could appear.  Resolution:  Copy the entire link and paste into new internet browser.

Internal 500 Errors

Problem:  The following error message can result if the user has had the system up in a report, failed to interact with the system for 30 minutes, and then attempts to re-execute a report action like a “Go To” jump, open a variable screen for parameter modification.

The following message will be generated if there is a temporary problem with the supporting Application Server

Time Out error Internal 500

Resolution:  User is still logged in to the portal.  Click on a top or secondary level navigation item like the AIMS or AIMS > FM Account Assignment to re-initiate a connection with the BW.

Try again.  If the application server problem has been resolved then the query should run just fine.  If the problem persists, then contact the System Administrator as they will need to address it with the Basis Team.

Metadata Error Messages

End Users may receive metadata error messages (shown below) when executing any Business Warehouse report.  These errors do not affect the report data at all - the results are still correct.

At this point, we are unsure what is causing these error messages.  A message has been opened with SAP asking for a resolution.

In the meantime, if a user experiences the error messages, they will continue to get the error as long as they are logged in to that same portal session.  Once they log out, it may or may not clear up.
