PageCenterX Set for Weekend Implementation - 10/29/09

PageCenterX will be put into service Saturday, Oct. 31. It will replace PageCenter, the mainframe application that provided shared access to defined reports and served as a reporting repository for several years.

The System Support Group (SSG) Reporting team will conduct post-implementation validation testing the week of Nov. 2. PageCenter will be decommissioned at a later date.

In accordance with the University’s efforts to decommission the mainframe, ITaP identified PageCenterX as the Web-based solution that would provide all the report storage and viewing capabilities of PageCenter.

PageCenterX provides some additional functionality, such as enhanced search capabilities and login accessibility with a Career Account instead of ACID (Access ID). There are also a few navigational differences between the two applications for users to learn.

To help familiarize users with the new application, the SSG Reporting team will conduct three showcases to demonstrate it and its enhanced functionality. The showcase, “BPAGE 100, Introduction to PageCenterX,” will include log-in instructions, navigation of the folder structure, and how to open and navigate a report in PageCenterX. While the showcase is recommended for business office staff with PageCenter experience, anyone interested in learning about PageCenterX will be welcome.
The showcases will meet in Stewart Center, Room 214 A-D:
     -- 9-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 10
     -- 3:30-5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 11
     -- 9-10:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 20
Online self-registration is required through PREMIS with the enrollee’s Purdue Career Account and password. To access “BPAGE 100, Introduction to PageCenter X” after logging in, click “Business Systems,” then “Reporting.”
