HR-Payroll Support Team Completes Retirement Vendor Project - 04/21/11

ITEA HR-Payroll Support Team announced Wednesday that it had completed the reconfiguration of the University’s retirement plans in SAP to accommodate a new retirement vendor.

The project was requested last April by Staff Benefits after the University’s Board of Trustees approved changing Purdue’s retirement vendor to Fidelity.

The project included new retirement plans in SAP and building three new interfaces between the SAP system and the vendor. The interfaces included eligibility, elections/changes and contribution information. The team also added a link to the vendor from the SAP portal and re-engineered related business processes. Although, the bulk of the project was completed by the Jan. 1, 2011, go-live deadline, resolution of an SAP issue, as well as systems validation, required additional work by the team.

“The project’s timeline was very tight from approval to go-live,” team leader Lester Burch said, “so the communication and cooperation between my team and Staff Benefits were key to the successful conclusion of this project.”
