February 24 - DR. GEORGE BODNER

Dr. George Bodner from the Chemistry Department gave a talk titled, “I’m finally beginning to understand why I didn’t understand.”  He spoke about his research into problem-solving techniques and things students can do to prepare themselves for the real world, not just school.  The biggest recommendation he gives is to constantly consider how what you are doing relates to real life.

Club announcements:

The club has been invited to take a tour of Beckman & Coulter!  We need to know how many people are interested before setting a date, so if you’d like to go, contact Anna (akhurloc@purdue.edu).

It’s that time of year again…Spring Fest is a month away!  The club could use workers on April 9th & 10th, from 10am-4pm.  We’ll be doing fun science experiments with kids.

The proceeds from last semester’s bake sale were donated to a teacher needing new balances on Donors Choose (http://www.donorschoose.org/donors/proposal.html?id=467308#).
