Scheduling Platform:<\/strong> SubItUp <\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Scheduling Responsibilities<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • All student employees are responsible for reviewing and acknowledging their\u00a0assigned shifts in SubItUp<\/strong>\u00a0as soon as schedules are published.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Schedules will be released on a semester basis. Students must ensure their\u00a0availability is up to date<\/strong>\u00a0in the platform prior to each scheduling period.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    2. Shift Swaps and Coverage<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

      \n
    • If a student cannot attend a scheduled shift, they must:\n
        \n
      • Use SubItUp to\u00a0drop or swap the shift<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Provide\u00a0at least 24 hours\u2019 notice<\/strong>\u00a0whenever possible\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Ensure the shift is covered by an approved teammate\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The student\u00a0remains responsible<\/strong>\u00a0for the shift until it is picked up by another team member and confirmed in SubItUp.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        3. Absences & Tardiness<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • An\u00a0absence<\/strong>\u00a0is defined as missing a scheduled shift\u00a0without prior approval or coverage arranged through SubItUp<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • A\u00a0tardy<\/strong>\u00a0is defined as arriving\u00a0more than 10 minutes late<\/strong>\u00a0to a scheduled shift without communication.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Consequences:\n
            \n
          • 1st Unexcused Absence:<\/strong>\u00a0Verbal reminder\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • 2nd Unexcused Absence:<\/strong>\u00a0Written warning\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • 3rd Unexcused Absence:<\/strong>\u00a0Supervisor meeting, potential probation or role review\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • 2 tardies<\/strong>\u00a0= 1 unexcused absence\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            4. SubItUp Expectations<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            All student workers must: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \n
            • Regularly check SubItUp for\u00a0schedule updates and notifications<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Submit availability<\/strong>\u00a0during designated input periods\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Use platform tools to handle shift changes\u00a0professionally and in a timely manner<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            • Communicate clearly<\/strong>\u00a0in shift notes or through the platform if issues arise\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

              5. Attendance Tracking<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                \n
              • Supervisors will review SubItUp\u00a0attendance and shift reports weekly<\/strong>\u00a0to track:\n
                  \n
                • Shift no-shows\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Repeated swaps or dropped shifts\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • Patterns of unreliability\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                • These records may influence performance evaluations, role eligibility, or leadership opportunities.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                  6. Emergencies & Accommodations<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Students experiencing emergencies or who require schedule accommodations must notify a supervisor directly as soon as possible. Documented circumstances will be taken into account and may exempt the student from disciplinary steps. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Purdue University – Recognized Absences<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

                  Grief-Related Absences <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                  We understand that experiencing the loss of a loved one is a challenging time. If a student needs to be absent before or after a bereavement, they should reach out directly to their supervisor to discuss their situation.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Jury Duty Absences  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                  Students who are called for jury duty are eligible to request an excused absence in accordance with the university\u2019s Jury Duty Absence Policy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Medical Emergencies <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                  Students who experience sudden and serious health-related situations will be excused.   These emergencies may include conditions that require immediate medical attention such as hospitalization, surgery, or emergency room visits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Military Training Obligations  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                  Students who are actively serving in the National Guard or military reserves may be required to attend mandatory training as part of their service commitment. These obligations qualify as excused absences when proper documentation is provided. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Parental Leave  <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                  Leave for childbirth, recovery, or care of new child (including adoptive, foster, or legal guardianship situations) will be excused.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Other Personal Absences <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

                  We understand that not all personal circumstances fit standard absence categories. If a student must miss a shift due to an unexpected or uncontrollable situation, they should communicate directly with their supervisor as soon as possible. Approval will be based on the supervisor\u2019s judgment and relevant policies.
