The AFL features a variety of packages installed on the six CAD/CAM stations in the Demonstration Studio. The CAD packages currently available on these computers include:
The AFL provides CAD/CAM assistance with DS CATIA v5R21 and Siemens NX 9.0.
The AFL has developed custom CAD/CAM environments in both Siemens NX 9.0 and DS CATIA v5R21. These environments have been developed to simplify the CAM experience, and to ensure that NC code runs effectively on the AFL machines. Both CAM environments are available for installation on any ECN domain machine.
If you have any questions about how to use the AFL CAM Environment, stop by the AFL and ask a TA.
The AFL has developed integrated CAD/CAM workflows using both Siemens NX and CATIA v5. This approach allows users to easily transition between CAD design and manufacturing (CAM) processing.
The following video shows how a single student can transition from CAD model to CAM processing, and ultimately produce a functional part on a CNC machine.
