However, we are more immediately concerned for their safety, and the safety of our students on campus. Thank you to all the faculty, staff, student volunteers, visiting artists, clinicians, adjudicators, and guest schools that have prepared tirelessly for this event. With a 43-year legacy, Yellowjackets have released 26 albums, earned 16 Grammy® nominations, and established themselves as one of the most influential groups in contemporary jazz. Originally formed in the late 1970s as Robben Ford’s backing band, they soon evolved into a powerhouse ensemble. Longtime members Russell Ferrante, William Kennedy, and Bob Mintzer continue to define the band’s signature electro-acoustic sound and exceptional musicianship.
