{"id":14694,"date":"2023-03-06T13:12:06","date_gmt":"2023-03-06T18:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/bands\/?p=12554"},"modified":"2025-09-09T16:54:08","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T20:54:08","slug":"all-american-marching-band-to-ireland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/bands\/all-american-marching-band-to-ireland\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;All-American&#8221; Marching Band to Ireland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Purdue \u201cAll-American\u201d Marching Band to return to Ireland for St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>The Purdue &#8220;All-American&#8221; Marching Band from West Lafayette, Indiana in the United States will make a return trip to Ireland in March, marking the third time the marching band will have performed in Ireland. In 2013 and 2018, the band rounded out the internationally famous St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade in Dublin along with their World\u2019s Largest Drum.<\/p>\n<p>In Ireland, students will have the opportunity to explore the country\u2019s rich history and perform at another unique venue. The \u201cAll-American\u201d Marching Band will perform just outside of Kilkenny Castle at 3:30pm on Wednesday, March 15, and they will finish their trip on Friday, March 17, as they march in the St. Patrick&#8217;s Day Parade in Dublin. This trip continues the department\u2019s rich tradition of international travel including trips to China, Japan, Venezuela, and their most recent trip abroad to Medell\u00edn, Colombia for the Feria de Las Flores (Flower Festival) in 2015. The Purdue \u201cAll-American\u201d Marching Band represents just one of the 30+ ensembles from the department of Purdue Bands &amp; Orchestras. Various concert bands, jazz bands, orchestras, athletic pep bands, and more make up the unique department at Purdue University.
