Jazz Bands from Benton Central HS, Harrison HS, Jefferson HS, McCutcheon HS, and West Lafayette HS. Performance by the Purdue Jazz Band. Featuring festival artist-in-residence Tim Coffman, trombone.

Friday, January 20, 8:00 p.m. Loeb Playhouse
Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra
Led by the firey pianist Arturo O’Farrill, the GRAMMY award winning ALJO brings together the drama of big band jazz, the culture of Latin music and the virtuosity of eighteen of the world’s most accomplished solo musicians. The program will range from the very best in dance music to repertoire that expands all expected Latin music boundaries. Audiences can expect an explosive performance packed with unique improvisation, spontaneity, and an emphasis on fun.
