2023-2024 Purdue Golduster Dance Team Auditions!

When? – Saturday, April 22, 2023 (doors open at 8am, check-in 8-8:30am)
Where? – Cardinal Gym located in Mackey Arena, 900 John R. Wooden Dr. West Lafayette, IN 47906 (enter through Atrium between Mackey and Holloway)
What to wear?
- Female-identifying or non-binary applicants:
  - Plain black crop top (fitted) or sports bra
  - Plain black leggings or athletic shorts (fitted)
  - Jazz shoes
  - Performance makeup and hair down
- Male-identifying or non-binary applicants:
  - Plain black t-shirt or tank top
  - Black athletic shorts or pants
  - Jazz shoes
Register Here. Registration will close on Friday, April 14th at 5pm (no exceptions)
There will be a routine to learn via video prior to audition day. Video will be sent out to everyone on Monday, April 17th. Everyone will need to come prepared to perform the routine live at auditions.
Audition day will consist of a technique round in the morning and a choreography plus improv round in the afternoon
Audition day timeline:
- 8-8:30am – check in
- 8:30-8:45am – warm up
- 8:45-11am – technique/skills audition
- ROUND 1 CUTS
- 11:30-12pm – lunch break
- 12-3:30pm(?) – choreography audition

Required skills and techniques:
- Right & Left leg kicks
- Right & Left split leaps
- Right calypso leap (chainé jeté)
- Right, Left and Center splits
- Right leg hold (preferably leg hold turn)
- Turning disc (chainé center leap)
- Right double turn (preferably triple)
- Short turns in second combo
- Short kickline combo
OPTIONAL, but encouraged skills to showcase:
- Aerial
- Headspring
- Kip up
