    • How do I sign up for Band Camp?
    • When are music auditions?
      • Incoming freshmen woodwind and brass players: The music audition is a “Gateway” audition for any incoming brass or woodwind player interested in marching band.  Incoming brass and woodwind players will complete a Virtual Audition Submission. Once a successful music audition is complete, students will be notified shortly whether or not they are invited to complete the marching band audition process at Band Camp, August 11th-17th.
      • Once incoming woodwind and brass players are notified of music audition results, those NOT attending band camp will be immediately assigned to one of the Fall Concert Bands and are free to register for Boiler Gold Rush.
      • Some incoming brass and woodwind players may be required to REPLAY the music audition on the first day of band camp.
      • Upperclassmen: Returning brass and woodwind players will perform a music audition on Tuesday, August 13th.
    • When are marching auditions?
      • The entire week of band camp is part of the marching audition process. Band Camp for incoming woodwinds and brass players will be invitation-only based on the music audition.
      • Being invited to Band Camp does not guarantee placement in the marching band. Students will be notified whether or not they will march for the season by Friday of camp week. We do our best to place all non-marching students in an indoor ensemble.

IMPORTANT NOTES FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN “ALL-AMERICAN” MARCHING BAND:

    • Boiler Gold Rush:
      • The Purdue “All-American” Marching Band provides a similar experience to Boiler Gold Rush (BGR) during the week of band camp, including presentations from important departments on campus, tours, and activities within your section.
      • Since Band Camp and BGR are the same week, please DO NOT SIGN UP FOR BGR IF YOU INTEND TO MARCH. You will not miss out by not attending BGR and will still acclimate to campus life and make plenty of new friends.
      • If you sign up for BGR and then decide to participate in band camp, you may request a full refund prior to July 31st, 2019. Contact studentsuccess@purdue.edu or (765) 494-9328 to determine if your circumstance qualifies.
        • Through July 31: Full refund of $320
        • Aug. 1 and later: No refund

      • Cost per night is $22 for the room through Friday, August 16, 2019 when the academic year contract begins. This cost will be billed to your MyPurdue account.
