Accountability Groups and Hours

Are you struggling with motivation and accountability? Tired of studying alone? Studying or working on homework can sometimes feel isolating and may lead to reduced productivity or procrastination. Join us and help hold each other accountable so we can all have a successful semester! Check out our two support programs below:

Accountability Groups

Accountability Groups offer ongoing support in a group setting to help you strengthen your study skills and stay motivated to achieve your goals.

  • Consistent, Dedicated Time: Groups will meet one time per week for 1.5 hours in the ASC
  • Peer Connection and Support: Groups will have 6-8 assigned students
  • Facilitated Strategy Development: Groups will be led by an ASC graduate assistant

What to Expect

Joining an Accountability Group will help you learn and implement time management and study strategies, connect you with peers, and provide a dedicated time to work on individual tasks. Group members will provide support and encouragement to help keep each other motivated throughout the semester!

Your group will have an assigned time to meet each week. The first 30 minutes of each group meeting will be spent checking in with one another and learning about a new learning strategy or topic (time management, study strategies, etc.). The last hour will be designated work time for everyone to work on their individual tasks and assignments. Groups will finish their meeting with a quick wrap-up and check-in with everyone on how things went.

How to Join

This is a new pilot program at the ASC, so spots are limited. If you are interested in joining, please fill out THIS INTEREST SURVEY. The Accountability Group meeting schedule is TBD. More information, including a formal application, will be available in August.

Virtual Accountability Hours

Study Alone, Together!

Hop on a Zoom call with your peers and an ASC graduate assistant for a dedicated work hour so you can cross tasks off your to-do list. Virtual Accountability Hours require no commitment, come every week or join when needed.

During the first few minutes, we will introduce ourselves and share what we want to accomplish during the upcoming hour. You may plan on watching a lecture, reading an assignment, working on an essay, etc. Everyone will be working on their own task, but we'll enjoy each other's company while we do it. At the end, we will share how things went.
