Alternative Delivery of Academic Support Resources

Beginning on March 23, Purdue will move all instruction to an online/alternative delivery format for the remainder of Spring 2020 semester. Academic assistance resources across campus are working to identify how to best support students and their learning during this time. This site will be updated regularly with information on available resources and how to access them during the duration of online/alternative delivery learning.

Toolkit for Online Students

Purdue Online has a digital toolkit for students taking online classes. The toolkit has topics related to success in online courses, including organization, communication, study habits, working with groups, tools, and support. Visit the Innovative Learning site to explore this resource as you navigate online classes.

Writing Lab

While all face-to-face tutoring at all of our locations are canceled, we maintain a full schedule of online tutoring. Students may have live chat sessions where they share documents, or students may upload papers for feedback and advice. Remember, we cannot proofread or edit documents, but we can teach people how to do either. Visit for more information.

Supplemental Instruction (SI) - Academic Success Center

The Supplemental Instruction (SI) Program offers peer-led, collaborative learning and study sessions in traditionally challenging courses AND will continue to provide these sessions online. Students in SI-supported courses can log into Blackboard to access "Supplemental Instruction" courses for information on how to participate in SI sessions for their course(s).

Academic Consultations - Academic Success Center

Academic Consultations are still available to help students create study plans and develop academic skills including time management, study strategies, and strategies for success in online courses. Schedule your virtual appointment through BoilerConnect, being mindful of any time changes if you are outside of the West Lafayette area.

Peer Success Coaching - Academic Success Center

Students can continue to meet with their Peer Success Coach virtually during the online/alternative delivery timeframe. PSCs will be reaching out to their coachees with more information. Students wishing to sign up to meet virtually for coaching with a PSC should sign-up online at

Academic Success Webinars - Academic Success Center

While the ASC's in-person workshops are canceled, similar content as well as new topics will be available in a webinar format. Webinar dates, topics, and registration information to shared soon. Webinars will be recorded and shared on the ASC website a few days later.

Purdue Presentation Center

The Presentation Center wil be offering virtual appointments. Students can register for an appointment using BoilerConnect. Prior to your appointment you will receive an email with a link to the virtual meeting room. Sesions must be scheduled 12 hours in advance.

Women in Engineering and Science (WIEP-WISP) Tutoring Program

WIEP-WISP Tutoring will remain open with times to be determined. The program meets in Shreve URSC C123.

Purdue Library

As you continue to learn remotely, you will still have access to the Purdue Library. If you haven’t learned how to navigate the library system via online, there are many resources in place to help. First, we’d recommend viewing the   Purdue Library Tutorials. Second, many subjects have specific guides for your educational major:   Guides by Subject.

Please check back for more information on available support resources. Thanks for your patience as we adapt and find new ways to support Boilermakers’ success!
