What's New in MMP Tools for MapWindow GIS?

New features in version 0.1.6.0 (as of 24-Aug-2015):

A new toolbar button, Subdivide Field into Grid, subdivides a selected field into grid cells based on a cell size that you specify (for example, 2.5 acres).

New features in version 0.1.5.1 (as of 28-Jul-2015):

A new toolbar button, Subdivide Field by Soil, subdivides a selected field by soil type.
A new toolbar button, Split Field with Line, splits a field into two fields based on a line that you draw across the field.

New features in version 0.1.4.0 (as of 29-Aug-2013):

A new Export command, Layers to GISRoam Files, exports selected layers to files that can be loaded into GISRoam on an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch (gisroam.com). This provides a way to view and use your GIS layers on a mobile device and with GPS on devices that have it.
A new Export command, Irris Scheduler File for Selected Field, exports the selected field's latitude, longitude, elevation and soil to a schedule file, then starts Irris Scheduler if it's installed.
A new command, Rename Selected Field, simplifies renaming fields, for example after importing fields.

New features in version 0.1.2.0 (as of 23-Nov-2011):

A new Export command, Layers to iGIS Zip File, exports selected layers to a .zip file that can be loaded into iGIS on an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch (http://www.geometryit.com/igis). This provides a way to view and use your GIS layers on a mobile device and with GPS on devices that have it.
A new menu, Advanced, adds the following commands. Note that the MMP commands require a finished MMP plan which supplies the data for creating the GIS layers.
- Add MMP Crop Layers. Adds a layer for each year of the MMP plan showing the fields' planned crops.
- Add MMP Annual Manure App Layers. Adds a layer for each year of the MMP plan showing which fields have planned manure applications.
- Add MMP Annual Soil Loss Layers. Calculates RUSLE2 soil loss for each soil in each field, adding a layer for each year of the MMP plan showing soils that are above "T".
- Add MMP Annual P Risk Layers. Calculates phosphorus risk for each soil in each field, using the state's phosphorus index or phosphorus risk assessment procedure, adding a layer for each year of the MMP plan showing each soil's risk.
- Design Research Plots. "Wizard" for designing research plots. Create a new farm project, draw the field where your plots will be, then use the wizard to divide the field into plots for a randomized complete block (RCB) design. More information is here.

New features in version 0.1.0.1 (as of 11-Oct-2010):

When you create a new farm project with the From Clipper Zip File command, MMP Tools now adds a watershed layer and a contour lines layer to the new project, as well as a README text file that documents the data sources for all base layers.
Example project TN_Example_Dairy has been updated with new base layers, including watershed layer.
When a farm project includes a watershed layer, MMP Tools can now determine each field's 12-digit watershed code and export this to the project's MMP plan (requires MMP 0.30 or later).
A new Clipper Web App command, Go to Current Project's Farm, allows you to go directly to the farm in the Web-based Clipper application in order to clip a different area or view the surrounding area.
A new Add Layer command, Water Layer from Topo Blue Lines, creates a layer of likely water based on the topographic image. Unlike the topo layer, you can overlay this water layer on top of the project's aerial photo.
A new Zoom To command, Watershed, provides a quick way of seeing where in the watershed the farm is located.
A new Export command, GIS Data to XML File, exports all field, feature and conservation practice shapes to a single XML file for submitting with a nutrient management plan or to use with other GIS or reporting software.
A new Manage Project command, View and Set Properties, provides a way to select the MMP plan file to associate with the project (for example, if it has a different name than the project or is in a different folder). You can also enter a title, author, company and comments here for the project.
A new Manage Project command, Remove Layer and Delete its Files, provides a one-step way to remove the currently selected layer from the project and delete the layer's underlying files.

New features in version 0.0.9.0 (as of 03-Dec-2009):

Minor change to ensure that MMP Tools works well with latest MapWindow 4.7 stable release. MMP Tools includes an earlier version of MapWindow. To install MMP Tools with the latest version of MapWindow, see the MMP Tools installation instructions.

You can now let MMP Tools automatically add frequently or occasionally flooded soils as sensitive "features", optionally treating them as non-spreadable areas.
Tennessee example dairy project now has a layer showing all occasionally flooded soils on the farm (there are no frequently flooded soils).
Support for importing practices from SNMP 1.1 shapefiles (prac_*.shp).

New features in version 0.0.6.0 (as of 10-Oct-2008):

To add a color aerial photo clipped from the USGS Web site, just select the downloaded .zip file and MMP Tools will do the unzipping and adding of the photo automatically.
If you clip elevation data from the USGS Web site, MMP Tools can generate a contour lines layer from the downloaded .zip file.
When importing fields from a Toolkit XML file, you can now select one or more conservation plans to import instead of importing all conservation plans.
Fixed bug where importing practices from a Toolkit shapefile didn't import practice codes.
When exporting to an existing MMP plan, if a conservation plan (XML) is present, no longer overwrites the plan's name and address since that information might have been changed in the plan.
Tennessee example dairy project now has a contour lines layer.
Includes 23-Sep-2008 release of MapWindow GIS.
