Group within Administrative Operations continues tradition of spreading holiday cheer

A group within the Administrative Operations organization has spent the last several years gathering and donating items for stockings for soldiers overseas and children at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at Ascension St. Vincent. This year is no different with the group collecting snacks, toiletries, toys and boxes of books.

Cathy Brooks, lead material expeditor, says the group started collecting items for soldiers about five years ago. The drive then expanded to include items for children at the hospital.

“It really is something we look forward to doing each year, and this year we were able to provide 38 stockings for soldiers and 43 stocking for the children,” said Brooks. “It is the season for giving, and we are fortunate we can bring some holiday cheer to soldiers and children who may need it the most.”

While this giving drive has concluded and the stockings have been sent on their way, there is still time to donate to the Fill the Bell Tower Drive. Administrative Operations is partnering with LTHC Homeless Services to collect adult-sized hats, gloves and other items at various campus locations through Dec. 9.
