Stadium Avenue closed in two different areas for utility repairs, detour routes available

Stadium Avenue is currently closed in two different areas due to utility repairs. The first closure is located west of Martin Jischke Drive, and the second closure is located between University and Russell streets. The closures are expected to last through the remainder of the week with a goal of reopening by the end of the business day on Friday (Oct. 14) before the next home football game on Saturday (Oct. 15).

Individuals traveling west along Stadium Avenue can utilize the following detour:

  • Turn north on John R. Wooden Drive
  • Follow Tower Drive west
  • Turn south on North Martin Jischke Drive to continue south of Stadium Avenue, or turn south on David Ross Road to continue west on Stadium Avenue.

Individuals traveling east along Stadium Avenue can utilize the following detour:

  • Turn north on North Martin Jischke Drive or David Ross Road
  • Follow Tower Drive east to John R. Wooden Drive
  • Turn north and pass Ross-Ade Stadium
  • Turn eastbound on Cherry Lane
  • Turn south on Northwestern Avenue to get back to Stadium Avenue.

During the closure near Martin Jischke Drive, access to the France A. Córdova Recreational Sports Center (CREC) will be maintained from North Martin Jischke Drive, south of Stadium Avenue.

City Bus routes will also be impacted by these closures. Riders are encouraged to check the real-time GPS tracking of buses on the Where Is the Bus? webpage or on the MyCityBus mobile app.

All motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians should use caution in these areas, obey all posted signs and seek alternate routes.
