  • This program accepts the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars basic requirements as described on the English Proficiency Requirements page.

Doctoral and Master's Degree Program Requirements


  • Cumulative Grade Point Average from most recently conferred undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree:
    • 3.0 or equivalent (A=4.0)
  • A minimum of 2 semesters of Calculus and 2 semesters of General Physics (to fulfill the prerequisites for a Physics minor, preferably calculus-based courses in mechanics and electricity and magnetism)

Certificate Program Requirements


  • Cumulative Grade Point Average from most recently conferred undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree:
    • 3.0 or equivalent (A=4.0)
  • Anatomy and Physiology coursework that meets the Anatomy and Physiology requirements of AAPM Report No. 365 - Academic program recommendations for graduate degrees in medical physics: AAPM Report No. 365 (Revision of Report No. 197) (2022).
  • Physics courses covering the equivalent of a Physics minor (see https://www.physics.purdue.edu/academic-programs/undergraduate/minors.html)

  • *Deadline for consideration for University and College internal competitive awards. Final deadline is May 1 for Fall admission. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit applications prior to December 1. Please note that the application must be complete (including receipt of any third-party documents) by the deadlines stated.
  • **MS applications will be considered for Fall or Summer entry only. For all applicants, our primary admission window is for Fall entry. To be considered for Spring or Summer entry applicants are required to receive an endorsement from a medical physics faculty member prior to applying. It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact faculty of interest. The endorsement of the faculty member is only an approval to submit an application for a non-fall entry and does not guarantee admission.
