The award is offered four times per year, with each cycle covering travel within a designated three-month period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, we have $36,000 to award each year with individual awards averaging $500. Awards are merit-based and postdocs can apply each cycle.\u202f<strong>Applicants with the greatest professional investment in event attendance are prioritized.<\/strong>\u202fFunds are distributed to the postdoc\u2019s Concur account to reimburse travel expenses. Each finalist will be recognized by OGSPS as the top mentor for their respective college. From among finalists, OGSPS will then select one institutional winner who will be distinguished with a $1,500 check and invited to the OGSPS Awards Reception on April 23rd, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The call for nominations will be sent to college deans in November, and selections will be made in March<\/strong>. Based on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.sixwordmemoirs.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SMITH magazine\u2019s \u201cSix-Word Memoirs\u201d<\/a>&nbsp;concept, Say It In 6\u00ae is a competition that challenges you to tell a story about your graduate or postdoctoral research experience \u2014 in a clear, concise, and, most importantly, creative way \u2014 by using only six words and one visual aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition is open to all graduate and professional students, non-degree students, and postdoctoral fellows at Purdue.&nbsp;Entries will be published on the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars website and social media pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Top finalists compete for cash prizes, including Winner ($1,000), Runner-Up ($500), and People\u2019s Choice Award ($500).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Purdue holds this competition spring semester. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.purdue.edu\/academics\/ogsps\/postdoc-affairs\/funding-and-leadership-opportunities\/funding-awards\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2345\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Learn more here<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">External Opportunities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CTSI Postdoc Challenge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<p>The Postdoc Challenge offers postdoctoral researchers at Indiana University, IU School of Medicine, IUI, Purdue University, and the University of Notre Dame <strong>valuable proposal writing and reviewing experience<\/strong> in areas related to translational research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>There is also opportunity to compete for a $5,000 award in the form of an expense account for use of core facility services.<\/strong> Funding is to be used&nbsp;ONLY&nbsp;for services provided by the Indiana CTSI designated core facilities. Indiana CTSI-designated core facilities are listed on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/indianactsi.org\/servicecores\/\">Indiana CTSI website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Annual RFAs come out in December and applications are due in March.
