This account is created when you are admitted to Purdue and is yours to use for as long as you are affiliated with Purdue. You can store files in your career account and access them anytime, anywhere on campus. Your career account alias comprises the part of your email address before the @purdue.edu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To Activate Your Career Account<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You need your Purdue University Identification Number (PUID), which was provided in your online admission decision letter.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will also need a career account set-up password. The software package is called Banner, so you may hear faculty and staff members refer to it by that name as well. You will need your career account login and BoilerKey to log in to myPurdue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some of the benefits of myPurdue include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Online course registration in real time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Online credit card payment for tuition<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to your financial aid information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access to review and update your personal information such as emergency contacts, mailing address, email, ethnicity\/race, and gender identity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Purdue Email<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An @purdue.edu email account is provided to all individuals who maintain an affiliation with Purdue University. Before a new I-20 can be issued, the academic unit must approve the request and forward it to the Office of Graduate Admissions for final review and approval.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Newly admitted domestic graduate students&nbsp;<\/strong>admitted for Fall 2025 have the ability (without asking for a deferral) to register for Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Summer 2026.&nbsp; Admitted domestic graduate students who wish to defer their admission to Fall 2026 must submit a written request to their academic unit. The academic unit must approve the request and forward it to the Office of Graduate Admissions for final review and approval.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Admitted students who are unable to matriculate may The Greater Lafayette area and Indianapolis boast a low&nbsp;<a href=\"\/academics\/ogsps\/admissions\/admitted-students\/cost-of-living\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cost of living<\/a>. This makes finding housing on a graduate stipend\/paycheck easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Lease Cycles<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Many apartments in the Greater Lafayette and Indianapolis areas require that leases be signed 6+ months in advance of your move-in date. So, if your move-in date is in August, you may need to sign your lease in March (or sooner) to secure housing on time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must verify that your move-in date is before the date that you arrive on campus. Many graduate programs require that you attend orientation (up to a week) before the first day of classes.
