Teach-In Resources to Help Address Anti-Asian Racism, Bias, and Violence (Particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic)

(April 9, 2020) The COVID-19 pandemic is disproportionately affecting communities of color throughout the nation, including Asian and Asian Americans (also see here for impacts to communities of color). Our media outlets and everyday accounts have been documenting heightened racism, bias, and violence directed to Asians and Asian Americans. Purdue AAARCC has been following this issue closely and has been working these past two weeks to produce Teach-In Resources that our students, faculty, staff, community members, and alumni can use to help fight against biases amid the pandemic.

Please read this teach-in document and find ways to incorporate the materials into your classrooms, programming, events, and conversations with others: Questions, edit suggestions, and collaboration can be directed to aaarcc@purdue.edu or by calling (765)496-0488.

Understanding the History and Needs for Solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter among Asian and Asian American Communities

The AAARCC has been working on a Teach-In document on Understanding the History and Needs for Solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter among Asian and Asian American Communities. We will continue compiling these resources for possibilities of inclusion as teaching materials, training materials, reading materials and to be applied in our daily practices.

In this document you'll find links to news articles, webinars, reading materials, among others.
