New SEVP Portal for Post-Completion OPT and STEM OPT Students

On Friday, March 23, 2018, the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) launched a new SEVP Portal, a website that allows students on post-completion OPT and STEM OPT to review and update some data pertaining to student OPT information. Use of the portal is optional and not mandated by federal immigration regulations. Purdue ISS current has no preference with regard to if you should or should not activate your account.

However, students on OPT and STEM OPT are still required to report all personal and employment information changes through myISS within 10 days of any change. Please review the OPT and STEM OPT webpages for further information on reporting requirements.

SEVP is contacting students through the email address listed in their SEVIS record to invite use of the portal. This email will come from and provides instructions for creating your SEVP Student Portal Account.
