Are there Scholarships or Financial Aid available for International Students?

Because Purdue University is a state-assisted, public institution, international undergraduate students are generally ineligible for need and merit based financial aid. In addition to the excellent return on investment (ROI) the Purdue degree provides, Purdue’s tuition has remained frozen at current rates for the past four years.Guide page 13

How do I change major or term on my application?

Applicants can use the Application Change Form once per submitted application. Please allow 4-6 weeks processing time.

How do I check my application status?

Approximately 2-3 business days after submitting the online application ($60 fee), students will receive an email (to email used to apply) from our office providing login credentials allowing students to view the Purdue application and track application status.

To check whether your Purdue application is complete, review the "Requirements" section at the bottom of your Application Summary page to see which required items we have received and which are still outstanding. A blank date in the “Received” column, for any item, indicates the item has not been received or your document is currently being processed.

During the peak application season (October-February), documents may be in the processing stage for at least 6 weeks after mail is received. Once processed the application status portal will reflect the received date, not the processing date.

When will my test scores arrive at Purdue?

Please allow up to 3 weeks from when you have scores sent to Purdue for your test scores to be reflected on your application checklist.

When will I get an admissions decision?

Students can expect an admission decision up to 12 weeks from when the application is complete per the application checklist. Decisions are not guaranteed by a certain date.

Where can I find my PUID?

Admitted students can find their Purdue University ID (PUID) number in their admissions offer letter. An offer letter is viewable via your online application portal within 48-72 hours after the admission decision has been made.

Where can I find my Decision Letter?

Decision letters are viewable via the online application portal within three business days after the decision has been made.

Does my name and DOB (Date of Birth) need to match on all documents?

Yes. In order for your application to be processed please ensure that your name and date of birth are the same on every document and test taken. IF you believe that your name does not match both your application and test scores/documents, please email with the following information:

What if I was Homeschooled?

official high school transcript, which should include coursework and grades earned for each year/term the student has completed at the time of application. To meet Purdue's minimum high school course expectations for admission, courses must include grades; we cannot accept courses taken on a "pass/no pass" basis.

Homeschooled students also must provide an official transcript with coursework and grades earned.

What if I have a GED?

Purdue will consider applicants who did not receive a high school diploma but have successfully completed an official high school equivalency assessment. However, such applicants must provide transcripts for any completed high school or college-level coursework and still must meet Purdue's high school course expectations.

What are the next steps after being admitted?

accept an offer of admission, you must activate your online student career account. To activate your account, you must have your Purdue University ID (PUID) number and your career account setup password, both of which are provided in the admissions offer letter. After activating your account, you will gain access to your myPurdue online portal, through which you can accept your offer of admission. A nonrefundable $400 deposit will be required at the time you accept your offer. The deposit will be applied toward first-semester fees.

*Please make sure you accept your offer and pay the deposit before the deadline indicated on your letter of admission.

Can I defer my admissions offer?

No. Students who are offered admission cannot defer their admission to a different academic term. Students are only offered admissions for the semester they apply for. If a student cannot attend a certain semester, one can update their application to a future term by the application change form. The change form does not guarantee admission for the new term.

How do I get my Purdue I-20?

Within 3 business days of submitting the enrollment deposit ($400), students will recieve an email from International Students and Scholars to complete the notification of intent (NOI) form online. Students who apply for fall/summer admission will receive NOI information beginning in mid-February.
