Orientations and Social Events

To participate in IFP semester matching, hosts and students are required to attend a 45 minute orientation seminar which covers program expectations, cultural considerations and tips for meaningful interactions. Our hope is that the seminar will equip hosts and students to be ready and excited to meet each other that first time.

Orientation Seminars

Summer and fall host orientation sessions will begin in May and extend weekly through July 2017.  Individual and group sessions will be offered.

Intercultural Learning "Fun Nights"

Over the course of 2016-2017, IFP added Sunday intercultural learning nights for hosts, their families, and their students, to enjoy together. Twice a semester over a light supper, participants engaged in guided conversations and board games. At Culture Shots, on March 26, student and host leaders from four countries, USA, Singapore, India and S. Korea shared unique aspects of their cultures that could be experienced using the five senses. We look forward to featuring other countries and cultures in future "Fun Nights."

End of Year Celebration!

Chilli dogs and bowling were enjoyed by one and all at the IFP Bowling Party on Saturday night, April 22. A lot of laughing, cheers and high fives reverberated throughout the bowling alley. What fun for young and old alike!
